Abraham Muscat was born in Balzan on the 19th February 1917, at a young age he became interested in St Gabriel’s Band Club. In the year 1945 he was elected as a member of the executive committee for the first time. He was elected for the next thirty-three years.

Bramu, as he was known by everyone used to tae part and encourage anything that the club organised. He took care of the Annunciation Feast organisation for thirty-six consecutive years.

He was active in anything that the feast required, example door-to-door money collection every Sunday for fund raising. It was not the first time that he gave money himself because he did not collect enough money. He was the factotum for the feast decorations. He could do anything with wood and one must not forget that Bramu was a professional wood carpenter.

All year round one could find Bramu doing some piece of work for the feast.

But the thing closest to his heart was the St Gabriel Band. He was the first member for the Band commission fifty years ago. He was also a band player and used to play the trombone cantabile.

Bramu passed away on the 20th May 1987.
